OUR STORY

Hodges Architecture was founded in 1977 by Charles Hodges as Hodges & Associates. Over the past three decades Hodges has grown from a small, one-man shop in Dallas, TX to a nationally recognized firm with a team of more than 60 with over 40 million square feet of built space.

This growth began in earnest in 1980 with the addition of Charles’ fellow Texas Tech alum, Gerald Luecke. Originally focused on custom homes, Hodges transitioned to the booming commercial retail market. When Gary DeVleer joined the office in 1981, the core leadership group that would direct the development and expansion of Hodges for the next 30 years was in place. With commercial retail as a mainstay, Hodges ventured into the entertainment design market as well, with Act 3 Cinemas as its first cinema client in the early 1990s. HODGES Entertainment is now widely respected as a leader in cinema design with clients and projects across the country. Master planning/site planning has been another area of steady growth for Hodges. Kerry Overall joined Hodges in 1992 to lead the planning studio and later became a partner. He now oversees the planning of more than 100 projects each year.

Fast forward to today and Hodges is a nationally recognized, multi-market firm handling a wide variety of building types and markets. Our experience has grown to include senior lifestyle communities, Alzheimer’s and assisted living, multifamily, mixed-use, and hospitality projects.

The sustained growth and repeat client base that HODGES Architecture enjoys attests to our understanding that as Architects, designers, and planners we are, first and foremost, problem solvers - and excellent client service is our mission.
