Community Involvement & Health

Giving back

At HODGES Architecture, our team is committed to making a tangible difference in our local community. Each year, we contribute substantially through donations and volunteer activities, partnering with esteemed organizations such as Hearts & Hammers, Toys for Tots, SPCA of Dallas, and the Genesis Women’s Shelter. Our collective efforts have profoundly impacted our community, providing crucial support where needed most.

Hearts & Hammers—Our HODGES team members first volunteered in 2005 to help the volunteer organization repair and refresh the homes of local citizens in need. These homes, mostly in low-income areas, are often inhabited by elderly citizens who lack the funds or physical ability to fix them. The enhancements and repairs to these homes could be anything from painting, adding doors, building accessible ramps or routes into the house, or significant bushwhacking to pull the house free of invasive plants or out of the rough that has grown up around it over time. This is a unique opportunity to use your skills and directly impact someone’s life.

Toys for Tots—Annually, HODGES team members donate unwrapped toys to support the Marine Toys for Tots Foundation’s holiday mission of providing a tangible sign of hope to economically disadvantaged children at Christmas. With the intent to help bring the joy of Christmas and send a message of hope to America’s less fortunate children.  HODGES has been a proud Toys for Tots program contributor for several years.

Bark & Build—2024 will be the first year for HODGES to participate in this fun annual design-and-build competition, which helps to raise funds and awareness for the SPCA of Texas. Each competing team designs and builds an exciting doghouse or cat condo for public display at North Park Mall. At the end of the display period, the doghouses and cat condos are bid on in a silent auction, where all the money raised goes to benefit the SPCA of Texas.

Genesis Women’s Shelter—In the past, HODGES gathered donations to help provide the necessary goods to support and empower women and children fleeing violent homes. The organization’s mission is to provide safety, shelter, and support for women and children who have experienced domestic violence and to raise awareness regarding its cause, prevalence, and impact. Domestic violence can affect anyone, regardless of age, ethnicity, or socioeconomic class.

We believe that everyone has a role to play in community support. If you or someone you know would like to volunteer with HODGES or collaborate with your volunteer endeavors, we warmly encourage you to call the front office or email us at Info@hodgesusa.com. Your contribution, big or small, can make a significant impact.
